The Elain Shawl is the first, in the trio of shawls inspired by the book series “A Court of Thorn and Roses” by Sarah Maas.
The shawl designs came about through a collaboration with indie dyer Angela of Pretty Twisted Knots. It is through her love of these books that the colourways, inspired by characters in the books, was born.
The Elain Rosebud Shawl is inspired by the character, Elain. It is a simple, delicate, slightly ornate shawlette, focusing on the character’s love of her garden but also her strength.
I was inspired to design a shawl that represented these characteristics and I love what I came up with. A crescent shaped shawl, with slightly tipped wings, it has a simple but delicate eyelet lace, in the shape of flowers with a strong but delicate border.
I hope you love the first of the three shawls we have collaborated on and much as we did when designing both the shawl and the colourways.
